My Favourite Artist

I love art, and I am alright myself (nothing amazing) but my favourite artist to me is unbelievable.
His name is Thomas Kinkade. Unfortunately, he passed away on the 6th of April 2012 of 'acute intoxication', but his art is still amazing.
He's been nicknamed "The Painter of Light". He does many different types of paintings like seascapes, cottages, gardens, bridges and more. He is extremely talented. My favourite type of his paintings however are his Disney ones. They are brilliant.

Here is Beauty and the Beast. Thomas was given special access into the Disney archives and so his paintings have things of which never made it into the movies. I just love how he captures the mysterious and magical glow of the enchanted rose, the gold the sun paints on the clouds and landscape, and LumiƩre's warm glow of candlelight. A part I find intriguing is that he has hidden characters from past paintings within his others. Can you see Pinocchio on the bridge, Tinkerbell flying by the river, or Gus and Jaq the mice at the base of the enchanted rose's table? He has also hidden many hearts and 'Hidden Mickey's' (A large circle with two smaller circles on top) throughout his paintings. I find it fun to find these. It is hard to experience the true detail of these paintings here, so I recommend you go to the official website where you can get better images, and check out some other of his phenomenal work.

What really strikes me about these paintings is the detail. The time and effort that has gone into these paintings is phenomenal. Thomas Kinkade truly is a magnificent painter.
